The Laboratory has successfully completed the FY26 Federal Managers’ Financial Integrity Act (FMFIA) annual assurance process, an important component of DOE’s internal control framework. Coordinated by the Institutional Contract Assurance Office (ICAO), the FMFIA process evaluates the effectiveness of the Laboratory’s internal controls and financial management systems to support accountability, operational excellence, and effective stewardship. The annual assurance process provides DOE with confidence in the Laboratory’s governance and internal control environment while supporting informed risk management, sound decision making, and the achievement of the Laboratory’s strategic and operational objectives.
PEMP Notable Outcome:
The FY27 Notable Outcome (NO) suggestion process was recently completed, marking an important milestone in the Performance Evaluation and Measurement Plan (PEMP) cycle. Coordinated by ICAO, the process brought together Laboratory divisions, senior leadership, the UC, and the DOE to identify and prioritize the Laboratory’s most significant strategic initiatives and anticipated accomplishments for the upcoming fiscal year. These proposed Notable Outcomes provide the basis for DOE Office of Science review and approval and help align the Laboratory’s future performance priorities with DOE mission objectives and strategic direction.
FY26 Year-End PEMP:
As the Laboratory enters the fourth quarter of the fiscal year, preparation for the Year-End (YE) PEMP reporting process begins. Coordinated by the ICAO, the YE PEMP process brings together Laboratory divisions, senior leadership, the UC, and the DOE to evaluate performance against the established PEMP goals. Division contributions are essential in demonstrating scientific achievements, operational excellence, effective stewardship, and risk management. The collective results form the basis for DOE’s annual evaluation of the Laboratory’s performance under Contract 31 and directly influence award fee determination and potential contract term extension.
