Manager of the Office of Institutional Assurance and Integrity Theresa Triplett oversees Berkeley Lab’s contract assurance systems, quality management, and ethics and integrity programs. Triplett also serves as the UC Campus Ethics and Compliance Officer and Whistleblower/Protection Locally Designated Official for the Laboratory. Prior to joining the Lab in 2009 as a program manager responsible for the development and implementation of policies, processes, and training for the Laboratory Issues Management Program, she served in various roles at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco as the district business continuity manager, enterprise risk management program manager, and cash services supervisor. She also served as a branch manager during her 15-year tenure at World Savings. She has over 30 years of experience with managing institutional-wide departments and programs, both in private and public organizations. Triplett earned her BBA from Wichita State University.

Gabrielle Caparimo is the Lab’s Institutional Assessments and Performance Analysis process owner, and Lessons Learned Administrator. Additionally, she supports Quality Assurance reviews, such as the restricted item list and capital project procurements. Gabrielle has been with Berkeley Lab since July 2018 and previously worked for the New Jersey Department of Health. Gabrielle holds a B.S. in Public Health.

Melanie Gravois has 22 years of Quality and Contract Assurance experience in the DOE community. For the past 14 years, she has served as Berkeley Lab’s Institutional Quality Assurance Program Manager. Prior to coming to Berkeley Lab, Ms. Gravois spent nearly 8 years in Carlsbad, New Mexico where she served as a Site Project Quality Assurance Officer for the Central Characterization Program (CCP) Headquarters, and Program Manager and Nuclear Lead Auditor for the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP). Ms. Gravois grew up as an Army brat living between the United States and Europe until she graduated from college. She is also a working artist and a small business owner of a grass roots gallery in Oakland, California.

Manjot brings ten plus years of experience in the public and private sector to his position at the Berkeley Lab. He has previously worked for Honda, General Motors, Navistar and the City of Edmonton. He is an adherent to the philosophy of continuous improvement via data analytics. Manjot holds a B.Eng. and an MBA.

Xena is the Lab’s Assurance Program Manager for FMFIA and PEMP processes. She has over 8 years of experience in Compliance and Risk Management in the financial field from various public listed companies prior to Berkeley Lab.

Renee is the Contract Assurance Program Manager responsible for providing leadership and expertise to support the administration of the University of California (UC)/Department of Energy (DOE) Prime Contract, contract requirements management process, process integration with existing Berkeley Lab operating and business processes, and contract modification review and impact assessment. Renee also supports the contract negotiation process, administration of contract requirements and deliverables, and the development and implementation of policies, procedures, training, and metrics. She is an Illinois licensed attorney and has over 13 years of legal and compliance experience. Renee served as Compliance Officer for Priority Energy, Associate General Counsel for Chicago Teachers’ Pension Fund, and provided compliance consulting services for various companies prior to joining Berkeley Lab. She received her Bachelor of Science from Bradley University and her Juris Doctorate from John Marshall Law School.

Dmitry Soustin is a Program Manager responsible for management and implementation of the institutional requirements management process, including tracking of the Prime Contract deliverables. Dmitry also manages Berkeley Lab’s Requirements and Policies Manual (RPM). He joined Berkeley Lab in 2013 as an administrator in the Nuclear Science Division and then Molecular Foundry. His prior professional pursuits include managing research and academic programs at Stanford University, and international science engagement projects at CRDF Global. Dmitry is a graduate of the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey and San Francisco State University.

David Stein provides analytical and planning support for programs and activities managed by OIAI. He is a certified PMP with Project Management and Advanced Project Management certifications from UC Berkeley Extension. For David, safety and sustainability has always been a central focus. He is a FEMA certified Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) member, represents OIAI on the LD-OPS Safety Committee, is an Ergo Advocate and a USGBC LEED Green Associate.
